Join the Milestone Issue: Reflecting on a Year of Networking Growth
👋 Hey there, it's Greg, The Introverted Networker!
Welcome to this special edition of the newsletter.
Today, we're celebrating the first anniversary of The Introverted Networker, and I couldn't be more excited!
This issue take about 3 minutes to read
Humble Beginnings
Exactly one year ago, I sent out the very first issue of this newsletter.
Back then, I wasn't sure if I'd be able to keep it going for a whole year.
My goal was simple:
Publish once a week, every Saturday morning, with valuable networking insights
And guess what?
I did it!
I successfully published every Saturday for the past year.
Sure, some weeks were a bit closer to the deadline than I'd like to admit, but I'm extremely proud of this accomplishment.
Before we dive into some of my favorite issues from the last year, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude. I’m grateful to each and every one of you who joined the newsletter from the beginning or recently hopped on board.
Your support and engagement are what kept me going, week after week.
Looking Back
Over the past year, I've learned so much about producing this newsletter, continuously coming up with fresh content, and honing my networking skills.
Some things worked like a charm, while others didn't pan out as expected.
Nonetheless, all these experiences have shaped where I am today.
As of now, we have over 800 subscribers, which might not be a huge audience compared to some newsletters out there, but I value quality over quantity.
I'm more interested in fostering a highly engaged audience, people who resonate with my content, try my tips, and provide valuable feedback so we can learn and grow together.
Speaking of feedback, if you ever face any networking challenges or need advice, don't hesitate to drop me an email.
I genuinely appreciate hearing from all of you, and I'm here to help in any way I can.
Now, let's take a moment to look back at some of the highlights from the past year.
If you're new to the newsletter, I'd highly recommend exploring the first seven issues:
They provide a comprehensive overview of my networking process, from reconnection to creating networking habits.
Networking on LinkedIn
Additionally, I delved into some in-depth series on networking on LinkedIn, covering essential tips and tricks for making the most of this powerful platform.
If you're on LinkedIn or plan to be, check out How To Network on LinkedIn Part 1, 2, and 3.
Networking In Person
I usually tell people to avoid networking events.
For introverts, these events can be draining and unproductive. However, at some point, you’re going to go to a conference or event.
So, I shared my own networking experiences at a couple of conferences I went to this year.
In TIN #015 - How to network at conferences - part 1 and in TIN #016 - How to network at conferences - part 2, I shared how I prepare for conferences to make the most of the networking opportunities. I also shared what worked and what didn’t.
I also shared my experience networking at a conference in Las Vegas in TIN #040 - Networking In Vegas! What Worked, What Didn't
New Formats
One thing I learned from this journey is that everyone absorbs information differently.
To cater to diverse preferences, I started experimenting with audio and video podcasts.
These podcasts allow me to dive deeper into topics, providing more detailed networking advice that complements the written content.
My audio podcasts come out the same day as the newsletter on Substack and you can check out the video version on my YouTube channel.
That leads me to a question:
How do you like to get my networking advice?
Do you prefer the newsletter, the audio podcast, or the video podcast?

What’s Next
In the upcoming year, I'm committed to posting every Saturday, sharing the best networking insights and tips I've gathered over the years.
I'm also planning to turn the first issues into audio and video versions, making it possible for me to go into even more detailed networking advice.
Additionally, I'm developing short live courses for my audience, where you can interact with me directly, ask questions, and learn from my best networking advice in real-time.
As a valued subscriber, you'll have priority access and special discounts to these courses.
As I wrap up this special anniversary issue, I want to thank you once again for being a part of this wonderful journey.
Your support and engagement mean the world to me.
Let's continue connecting, growing, and seizing new opportunities together!
Until next week, have a fantastic week ahead, and remember ABC: Always Be Connecting!
