If you're not getting responses from your network, ask this question
If could make all the difference
"Am I being hard to help?"
"Am I:
⛔Asking someone broad questions I could have researched online"
⛔Asking someone to send my resume to the hiring manager"
⛔Asking someone if they have an open role for me"
Being hard to help means asking your connections to do all the work for you.
I believe people want to help others out.
But the harder you are to help, the less likely you are to get help.
So, how can you be easy to help?
It's simple:
Be specific.
Know exactly what you want and communicate it clearly to your connections.
• Write down the name of the company you want to learn more about
• Write down the name of the person you would like to meet
• Write down the name of the role you want to land.
And then, give these details to your connections.
✅Ask your connection to introduce you to that specific person.
✅Ask if they know someone at one of those companies.
✅Ask if they know anyone who does a similar role.
It's just a simple email for them to send.
By being specific and making it easy for your connections to help you, everyone wins.
Your connection feels good for helping you, your network grows,
And you get closer to what you want.
It's a win-win situation.
So, think about what you want.
And then, make it easy for others to help you achieve it.
You'll be amazed at the results.
